Dear Friends,
Words cannot express the excitement of meeting the
richest people in the world! In comparison Bill Gates is
a pauper. These wealthy men and women don't carry their
riches---they send it ahead. Imagine looking into the
eager face of a brother from Zimbabwe who says, "I
am so blessed to be here. The man who paid my way will
require me to work only two years to pay him back for the
trip!
Never in my life experience have I been surrounded by
this many Christians who are so focused on one purpose---to
glorify God by bringing the message of salvation through
faith in Jesus Christ.
These 12,000 evangelists and pastors, representing 205
nations, outnumber the countries represented at the
United Nations! Not only that, decisions and strategies
laid here will have a greater and more lasting impact on
the people of the world that all of the mandates and
decisions ever made by the United Nations.
Every afternoon when our booth opens, a wave of God's
precious ambassadors washes into our booth. Five of us
represent The God's Story Project and Eden Communications.
All afternoon we explain the content and multi-uses and
language availability of God's Story. We take
applications from those who have no money but who
desperately desire to use both God's Story and
the creation evangelism videos produced by Eden
Communications.
They quickly grasp the value of a video of the Bible in
their own language that can be used for evangelism and
discipleship.
Rachel, our daughter, explains the "Evangelist's
Backpack" to the sea of amazed faces. Often we see
eyes well up with tears. Can you imagine the incredulous
expression and the longing on a man's face when it dawns
on him that a tool exists which by solar power would
enable him to take God's Story into unreached
remote villages to deliver the Gospel?
To give you an idea of the hunger and the need for
evangelism materials let me share this. On the first
official conference day, Sunday July 29th, we personally
interchanged with and received applications from *500
evangelists!
After seeing a demonstration of God's Story,
over and over the brothers from India, Africa and South
America burst out with, "Sister, with a copy of this
video I could reach so many more for Jesus.
We tell these evangelists that we came to Amsterdam by
faith. We explain that we wanted to meet the men and
woman of the world who work on the front lines of
evangelism, many of whom risk their lives to tell about
Jesus. We also tell them that we do not have money in our
pockets to send them videos and we know that they do not
have the money either.
We tell them, "The same God who parted the Red Sea
and who gave you eternal salvation is the same God we
must seek to provide our needs. If you NEED these videos
or if you NEED a solar powered VCD player and disk of God's
Story to reach remote villages, we must claim
together the promise of Philippians 4:19, "But my
God shall supply all your need according to his riches in
glory by Christ Jesus."
Just yesterday in my devotions I read in Haggai 2:8,
"The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the
LORD of hosts."
One of the many joys of this conference is being able to
place a cassette tape of God's Story into the
hands of these precious people. I say to them, "The
price of this cassette is the same as the price of your
salvation---someone else who loves you paid for this!"
Thank you my friends for making possible the opportunity
to meet and equip evangelists. We will be coming home
with about *3,000 written requests for videos and
hundreds of requests for the solar powered "Evangelist's
Backpack. In the flesh I am scared. There is no way I can
do this. Only by a miracle of provision can we respond to
the needs. Please pray with us on this.
Another huge blessing is being able to speak face to
face with people who want to translate the God's
Story script into a new language and provide a
narrator for God's Story. We have already
gathered personal commitments from about **70 evangelists
for new language versions of God's Story
Our immediate need upon arriving home will be to find the
$200.00 per language needed to assemble and ship the
Translation Package to each of these 70 evangelists. They
will begin the arduous task of translating, believing by
faith that after their work is completed, we will have
the provision of $2,000.00 needed to complete the
recording and production work. Again, this too is beyond
our reach to supply, but we must believe Isaiah 59:1
"Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it
cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:"
Again, please pray and stand with us. I am humbled,
scared and excited about the awesome task and opportunity
set before us.

Psalm 96:3 "Declare his glory...his wonders among
all people."
*We at first projected 3000 in the early days of the conference, but 2,500 turned out to be the total number
of forms filled out. We did meet with many times that
amount who did not even know about the forms.
**Rather than 70 new languages mentioned, we now see the
possibility of 300+ new language versions of God's
Story coming from the commitments made at Amsterdam!
